There is something quietly confident about a well-designed wire bowl. This chrome-plated wire fruit bowl, dating to the c.1960s–1970s, carries the hallmarks of Scandinavian Modern design — a curved open-frame construction, looped detailing, and a sculptural silhouette that looks as considered today as it would have on a mid-century dining table.

Likely Scandinavian in origin, it reflects the period’s dedication to objects that earn their place through form as much as function. It works just as naturally holding a few apples or bread rolls as it does standing empty as a minimalist centrepiece. Vintage utility at its most elegant.
