All Things Retro is a Sweden-based vintage store built on a lifetime of experience in antiques, design, and restoration.
Founded by Amanda Granlund, the collection brings together Scandinavian design and carefully sourced 20th-century objects from across Europe and beyond — each piece chosen for its craftsmanship, character, and the history it carries.
Where It All Began
Amanda’s interest in vintage began early, influenced by her grandfather who worked at an auction house. Being surrounded by objects with history sparked a lasting fascination for craftsmanship, character, and the stories carried within everyday things.
A Life in Vintage

With an education in art and design and over 35 years of experience working with antiques and vintage objects, Amanda brings a trained eye for quality, craftsmanship, and design history.
Her journey took shape in the UK, where she ran an antique booth in Dorking and became a regular trader at Merton Abbey Mills. She also exhibited at some of England’s most respected antique fairs — Alexandra Palace (Ally Pally), Newark and Ardingly — working closely with a wide range of objects and collectors.
During these years, Amanda travelled extensively across the UK in a vintage Morris Minor van, sourcing pieces directly from auctions, fairs, and private sellers — often sleeping overnight in the back between stops. This hands-on approach built not only experience, but instinct: an ability to recognise quality, authenticity, and lasting value.
Early Specialisation & Restoration
Alongside this, Amanda developed a focused interest in antique teddy bears and soft toys — a niche that grew into one of the largest e-commerce platforms of its kind at the time.
Working closely with collectors and rare items over many years, she gained deep expertise in condition, authenticity, and restoration. This hands-on knowledge continues to inform how objects are evaluated and cared for today.
A Trained Eye
With a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Design and a successful career as a Creative Director working with leading household brands, Amanda brings a refined and highly trained perspective to vintage curation.
Her background in visual storytelling, composition, and material awareness shapes a selection process that goes beyond surface aesthetics, focusing on balance, form, and how objects interact within a space.
Sourcing & Selection
All Things Retro is not about volume — it’s about selection.
Today, based in Sweden, Amanda continues to source and curate vintage and antique objects across Sweden and Europe through auctions, private collections, and local discoveries.
The focus is on Scandinavian glass, ceramics, decorative objects, and collectible pieces — selected not only for their visual appeal, but for their character, quality, and place within design history.
Each item is carefully chosen based on:
- authenticity
- craftsmanship
- condition
- visual balance and form
- long-term design value
Whenever appropriate, pieces are gently restored — not to erase their history, but to preserve their integrity.
Why Vintage Still Matters
Amanda’s work is rooted in the belief that well-made objects deserve to be preserved and appreciated — and that every piece carries a story worth continuing.
Vintage offers something increasingly rare: depth, individuality, and a connection to materials and methods that were made to last.
