A sculptural vintage wall tile by JIE Gantofta, Sweden, featuring a butterfly in raised relief surrounded by stylised botanical forms.
Rich cobalt blue, earthy brown and soft green glazes contrast beautifully with the natural matte ceramic ground, highlighting the depth of the moulded design. The combination of organic imagery and strong relief gives it the unmistakable character of Scandinavian decorative ceramics from the 1960s and 70s.
Designed specifically as wall art, it retains its original hanging wire and displays beautifully as a standalone piece or as part of a collection of Scandinavian ceramics.
