There is something deeply honest about a piece of equipment that was made to keep a person safe. This Swedish lineman’s safety belt from the mid-20th century was built for exactly that — work at height on poles and structures, where every component had to be trusted without question. It has done that work, and it carries the marks to prove it.

Design & History

Swedish industrial craft of this period was defined by durability over decoration. The belt combines canvas webbing with a leather backing — a practical pairing that balances flexibility with load-bearing strength. The forged steel hook is fixed for pole positioning, and the construction throughout — riveted reinforcement, dual buckle fastening, metal loops and D-rings — reflects the demanding standards of professional utility work. This is not a reproduction, and it has not been restored beyond cleaning. What you see is what it was.
