This delightful vintage tea cup and saucer set from Chugai Japan brings together two of the most enduring traditions in Japanese export porcelain: romantic floral decoration and fine gold-accented craftsmanship. The pedestal cup form gives the set a refined, slightly formal elegance, while the pierced detailing on the saucer adds a note of decorative charm that sets this piece apart from ordinary mid-century tableware.

Design & Character

The decoration features pink roses rendered with transfer and hand-painted details, finished with lustrous gold trim around the rims and handle. The luster glaze lends the porcelain a soft, warm sheen that catches the light beautifully. The pedestal cup shape — a classic of mid-century Japanese export porcelain — adds a touch of sophistication whether the set is displayed in a cabinet or used for a quiet afternoon tea.
