A charming and authentic vintage Steiff teddy bear dating to around the 1940s. This delightful example of German craftsmanship is filled with firm wood wool and covered in golden mohair, still retaining around 95% of its original plush coat.
The bear features:
Hand-stitched details: Black wool nose and mouth stitching, with expressive painted glass eyes.
Pads have been covered long ago (not looked under to see if original felt is still there).
Working joints: Fully jointed arms, legs, and head for classic Steiff movement.
Label: Button is missing.
Growler: No longer functioning, but present inside.
Despite his age, this teddy is free from musty odors and presents beautifully, standing or sitting at approximately 28 cm tall. His condition shows honest play wear, adding to the authenticity and charm sought after by serious collectors.
